Kátlovce (German Katlowitz or older Katlowetz , Hungarian Kátló - until 1907 Kátlóc is a municipality in) west of Slovakia with a population of 1,129 (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the Trnavská pahorkatina hills , part of the Slovak Danube lowlands on the Blava river . The municipality is slightly hilly and agricultural (brown and aubo floors); Except for small patches of forest in the valley, nothing is left of the forest. The center of the village is at an altitude of 180 m nm and is 19 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring municipalities are Dechtice in the north, Chtelnica in the northeast, Nižná in the east, Radošovce in the southeast, Jaslovské Bohunice in the south, Dolné Dubové in the southwest and Horné Dubové in the west.
history
Today's municipal area has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age: archaeological evidence shows a settlement of the Bandkeramischen culture and a burial site of the Lengyel culture. In the district of Hradište there was an Iron Age fortress that was not investigated in detail.
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1401 in the land register of Guttenstein Castle (Slovak Hrad Dobrá Voda ) as Katlowicz . In 1482 the village became property of the Pénzes family , later ownership changed between the estates of Smolenitz and Guttenstein. In 1553, 21 portals are recorded in a tax register. During the Ottoman occupation of Hungary, the place was plundered and destroyed several times, the hardest in 1663. On the other hand, many Croatians from the southern Kingdom of Hungary settled in Kátlovce and the surrounding area in the 16th century, and the same happened to the Habans in the 17th century . Century. In 1828 there were 106 houses and 757 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Kátlovce had 1145 inhabitants, of which 1117 were Slovaks, 14 Roma, one Czech and one inhabitant of another ethnic group. Twelve residents gave no information in this regard. 1,071 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Old Catholic Church, the Evangelical Church AB, the Congregational Church and the Orthodox Church; four residents professed a different denomination. 26 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 36 residents was not determined.
