The Trnavská pahorkatina (German about Tyrnauer Hügelland (schaft) ) is part of the Danube hill country , the more mountainous part of the Slovak Danube lowlands and is about 1,700 km² in size.

The hill country is mainly covered by the loess soil that was blown in the last Ice Age and is bordered by the Little Carpathians in the west, the Považské podolie valley landscape in the north, the Dolnovážska niva floodplain landscape in the east and the Danube plain in the south. The hill country narrows from the Danube plain in the south and juts out like a wedge between the Little Carpathians and the Považský Inovec as far as Beckov . After the Waag , the Dudváh is the second important river.

The Trnavská pahorkatina is named after the city of Trnava (German Tyrnau ); other cities are Hlohovec , Leopoldov , Piešťany , Vrbové and Nové Mesto nad Váhom .
