Boleráz (German Frauendorf , Hungarian Bélaház - until 1882 Boleráz ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
location
It is located in the Danube hill country on the Trnávka river not far from the Little Carpathians . In terms of traffic, it is on the main road I / 51 between Trnava (15 km away) and Senica (30 km away).
The place Boleráz has a train station on the Trnava – Kúty railway line. In addition to the main town, the municipality also includes Klčovany (incorporated in 1960).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1240 as Balarad and was located on the "Bohemian Street" that connected Buda with Prague . In 1590 Boleráz got market rights and was raised to a market town .
According to the prehistoric finds from the Copper Age , which were made near Boleráz, the entire group of finds is called the Boleráz group . This includes, for example, the Jennyberg near Mödling, where finds were also assigned to this period.
