Lošonec (German Loschonz , Hungarian Kislosonc - until 1907 Losonc ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 563 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on a small spur of the Trnavská pahorkatina hills in the Little Carpathians in the valley of the Smutná brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 263 m nm and is 20 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring communities are Smolenice in the north, Horné Orešany in the east and south, very briefly Doľany in the southwest and Plavecké Podhradie and Plavecký Mikuláš in the west.
history
Lošonec was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1332 as Losinch and belonged to the estate of the nearby Smolenitz Castle . Around the middle of the 16th century the village was depopulated due to Turkish looting until it was rebuilt in 1589 by refugees of Croatian origin at the instigation of the landowner Anna Losonczi. At the same time a church was built in the village. In 1720 the village had vineyards, a mill and 20 taxpayers. In 1828 there were 62 houses and 449 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture and the manufacture of wooden dishes.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 522 inhabitants in Lošonec, including 483 Slovaks, two Czechs and one Magyar. Three residents indicated a different ethnic group and 33 residents gave no information in this regard. 425 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, three residents the Evangelical Church AB and one resident of the Congregational Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 33 residents had no denomination and 59 residents had no denomination.
