Horné Dubové (German Oberdubowan , Hungarian Felsődombó ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 385 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Trnavská pahorkatina hills at the foot of the Little Carpathians , on the left bank of the Dubovský brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 226 m nm and is 18 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring communities are Dechtice in the north, Kátlovce in the east, Dolné Dubové in the southeast, Dolná Krupá in the south, Horná Krupá in the west and Naháč in the north.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1262 as Feldombou and got its name after the oak forests that once existed. From the 16th century the village was owned by the Smolenitz Castle , partly owned by the Kéthelyi family . In 1781 the Pálffys became new owners. In 1828 there were 51 houses and 371 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture and viticulture.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 381 inhabitants lived in Horné Dubové, of which 378 were Slovaks and 2 Czechs. One resident made no statement in this regard. 351 residents admitted to the Roman Catholic Church and one resident to the Protestant Church AB. 23 residents were non-denominational and six residents had no denomination.
