Slovenská Nová Ves (until 1927 Slovak "Nová Ves", German -Slovak Neudorf or Neudorf , Hungarian Vedrődújfalu - until 1907 Tótújfalu ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 543 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the Trnavská pahorkatina hills by the Gidra river . The center of the village is at an altitude of 136 m nm and is 15 kilometers away from Trnava .
Neighboring municipalities are Cífer in the northwest and north, Zeleneč in the northeast, Voderady in the southeast, Veľký Grob in the south and Čataj in the west.
history
The community area was settled for the first time in the Copper Age, with further finds from Baden culture and from the Hallstatt period.
The place Slovenská Nová Ves was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1245 as Wyffalw and often changed hands. Over the centuries the village belonged to the Tyrnauer Poor Clares, the Földes , Farkas , Zichy , Pálffy and Batthyány families . In 1828 there were 39 houses and 287 inhabitants who were employed in agriculture and as workers on the estate.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
The former place Hrušov (formerly Slovak Krtvelíš; Hungarian Körtvélyes ), which was mentioned for the first time in 1243 as Curtuelus, belongs to the municipality . After the commassment of 1857 it was merged with Slovenská Nová Ves.
population
According to the 2011 census, there were 450 inhabitants in Slovenská Nová Ves, including 441 Slovaks and three Magyars; one resident belonged to a different ethnic group. Five residents gave no information in this regard. 399 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, five residents the Congregational Church and one resident of the Evangelical Church. AB 32 residents were non-denominational and the denomination of 15 residents was not determined.
