Jaslovské Bohunice is a municipality in the Okres Trnava in Slovakia . It is located about 60 kilometers northeast of the capital Bratislava .

The community was created on July 12, 1958 through the merger of the communities Bohunice (German Bohunitz ) and Jaslovce (German Jasslowitz ). In 1975 the place Radošovce (to which in turn the place Paderovce (German Pagirowitz ) was added in 1974 ), Radošovce has been an independent municipality again since 1990.

Jaslovské Bohunice is best known for the nearby Bohunice nuclear power plant . This produces around 40 percent of Slovakia's electricity needs and supplies the city of Tyrnau with district heating. Despite its great importance for the Slovak electricity supply and despite the modernization that has been carried out, the nuclear power plant is to be completely shut down by 2025. The first block was shut down at the end of 2006. The European Union supports this process with some 150 million .
