Dlhá (until 1927 Slovak and "Dluhá"; German Langendorf , Hungarian Felsőhosszúfalu - until 1907 Hosszúfalu ; Latin Longa Villa ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 444 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The community is located in the hills Trnavská pahorkatina in a shallow bowl in which by the confluence of several streams from the Little Carpathians of Bach Podhajský Potok created. The municipality is hilly, largely deforested with loess soil. The center of the village is at an altitude of 185 m nm and is 15 kilometers away from Trnava .
Neighboring municipalities are Dolné Orešany in the north, Košolná in the northeast, Suchá nad Parnou in the east, Ružindol in the southwest, Borová in the south and Doľany in the west.
history
Dlhá was first in 1296 as Hwzywfolw mentioned in writing and belonged to the manor of Biberburg (now Cerveny Kamen ). In the first half of the 16th century the castle had ponds built, at the same time 14 Croatian families settled. In 1543 there were 29 subject families here, in 1583 there were 88 subject families, plus there were several vineyards. In 1828 there were 79 houses and 567 inhabitants who were employed in agriculture and viticulture.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Dlhá had 382 inhabitants, 372 of whom were Slovaks and one Magyar. Nine residents gave no answer. 346 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, two residents the Greek Catholic Church, one resident of the Evangelical Church AB, twelve residents were non-denominational and the denomination of 21 residents has not been determined.
