Horná Krupá (German Oberkrupa , Hungarian Felsőkorompa ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 513 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the Trnavská pahorkatina hills at the foot of the Little Carpathians . Horná Krupá is a typical street village on the right bank of the Krupský potok . The center of the village is at an altitude of 216 m nm and is 19 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring municipalities are Naháč in the north, Horné Dubové in the east, Dolná Krupá in the south, Boleráz in the west and Bíňovce in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1256 as Kurumpa and developed from the unitary place Krupá mentioned in 1113. The village was owned niederadeliger families like Ctibor and Spaczay , from the 18th century Brunswick . In 1828 there were 71 houses and 513 inhabitants who lived as farmers, basket makers, weavers and winemakers.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 507 inhabitants in Horná Krupá, including 492 Slovaks and two Moravians. 13 residents gave no information in this regard. 447 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and two residents supported the Evangelical Church AB; one resident professed a different denomination. 28 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 29 residents was not determined.
