Pavlice (until 1948 Slovak "Paldy"; German PALD , Hungarian PALD ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 554 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Trnava , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on the eastern edge of the Trnavská pahorkatina hill country , part of the Slovakian Danube lowlands on the Gidra river . The municipality is flat, deforested and covered by fertile black soils. The center of the village is at an altitude of 127 m nm and is 19 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring communities are Voderady in the north, Majcichov in the northeast, Abrahám in the east, Pusté Úľany in the south, Veľký Grob in the west.
history
Pavlice was first mentioned in writing in 1266 as terra Pauli . In the Middle Ages, the village belonged to the Tyrnauer Poor Clares, as did the surrounding estates, otherwise the place changed relatively often landowners. In 1828 there were 60 houses and 433 residents who lived mainly from agriculture.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
From 1974 to 1990 Pavlice was part of Voderady.
population
According to the 2011 census, Pavlice had 519 residents, 503 of whom were Slovaks, two Magyars, two Czechs, two Ukrainians and one Russian. Nine residents gave no information in this regard. 468 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Greek Catholic Church, two residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Orthodox Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 19 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 25 residents was not determined.
