Plavecké Podhradie (Slovak until 1927 "Plavecký Podhrad"; German bladder stone or Plasenstein , Hungarian Detrekőváralja ) is a municipality in the Okres Malacky within the Bratislavský kraj in Slovakia .

geography

The place is located on the western slope of the Little Carpathians in the Záhorie (German Marchauen ) landscape . The Vápenná mountain ( 752  m nm ) rises 3 km south of the village, while the Pohanská hill ( 495  m nm ) is 1 km northeast. Plavecké Podhradie is located on the road between Lozorno and Jablonica and is 30 km from Malacky and 33 km from Senica . The place can also be reached by train, in seasonal traffic with direct trains from Záhorská Ves .

history

The mountain Pohanská is a location for a Celtic oppidum and numerous finds of the Lusatian culture . The place itself was created in the 11th and 12th centuries, when the Cumans ( Slovak Plavci ), a Turkic people, served here as border guards for the Kingdom of Hungary . The first document dates from 1247, where the place is mentioned as Detreh . The German name bladder stone is mentioned in 1396. The place belonged to the estate of the Bladder Stone Castle ( Plavecký hrad ).

The place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 , after which it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
