Studienka (Slovak 1927 to 1948 "Hasprunka" - until 1927 "Hašprunka"; German Hausbrunn , Hungarian Szentistvánkút - until 1907 Szentistván - until 1888 Haszprunka ) is a municipality in Okres Malacky within Bratislavský kraj in Slovakia .
geography
The place is located in the Záhorská nížina (Záhorie lowlands) in the Záhorie region north of the Rudava river and is 13 km northeast of the town of Malacky and 32 km southwest of the town of Senica .
The municipality is almost completely surrounded by restricted and protected areas: to the west, south and east is the Záhorie military district and to the north, on the way to Senica, part of the Záhorie protected landscape area .
history
There is no agreement about the origin of the place, as there are no written sources about Studienka until 1592. According to one version, the Austrian woodcutters were supposed to build his apartments near a well in his work, so it was called Haus bei Brunn , then Hausbrunn and later in Slovak Hasprunka . The second version talks about a shepherd from Hausbrunn (Lower Austria) who was looking for pastures for his flock of sheep. After other shepherds also settled in the village, the place was later Slovakized and named Hasprunka after the place of origin of the first shepherd .
In 1592 the place was mentioned as Hausbrunn and belonged to the estate of the bladder stone castle .
Until 1918 the place was in Pressburg County within the Kingdom of Hungary , then it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
In 1948 the place was renamed Studienka based on the Slovak word studňa ("fountain") for national political reasons (deletion of German and Hungarian names on Czechoslovakian territory).
