Jakubov (Slovak until 1927 also "Jakubové"; German Jakobsdorf , Hungarian Nagyjakabfalva - until 1907 Jakabfalva ) is a municipality in Okres Malacky within the Bratislavský kraj in Slovakia .
geography
The place is located in the Záhorská nížina (Záhorie lowlands) in the Záhorie landscape on the Malina river and is 8 kilometers west of the town of Malacky and about 10 kilometers from the Austrian municipality of Angern an der March .
The Záhorie nature reserve extends to the west and south of the municipality .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1460. In the 16th century it belonged to the Szerédy family and belonged to the estate of the bladder stone castle . In 1703 a fire completely burned the place down.
Until 1918 the place was in Pressburg County within the Kingdom of Hungary , after which it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
