Carl Canaris

Carl Wilhelm Albert Canaris (born August 23, 1852 in Balve , † September 26, 1904 in Bad Nauheim ) was a German manager .

Canaris was born in 1852 as the son of Martin Joseph Canaris and Auguste Kloz in Balve in the Sauerland. From 1886 to 1891 he was the technical director of the Aplerbecker hut in Aplerbeck (now Dortmund-Aplerbeck) and from 1892 the hut director in Duisburg . He took over the management of the entire Niederrheinische Hütte in Duisburg- Hochfeld .

He succeeded in leading the Duisburger Hütte to great profits.

He was married to Auguste Popp, his son Wilhelm Canaris was a well-known German admiral and head of the Abwehr .
