Edílson da Silva Ferreira , stage name Edílson , (born September 17, 1971 in Salvador da Bahia ) is a former Brazilian football player .
Life
Edílson has made many club changes over the course of his career. Since his industrial debut in 1990, he has played with 16 teams. In 1991/92 he played for Tanabi Esporte Clube , followed by a short stay at Guarani FC before becoming Brazilian champions in 1993 and 1994 with Palmeiras São Paulo .
In 1994 Edílson moved to Europe to Benfica Lisbon , but returned to Palmeiras São Paulo in 1995. In 1996 he went to Japan to join Kashiwa Reysol , but only stayed one season. In 1997 he joined Corinthians São Paulo , where he was able to celebrate two more championships. In 1998 he was awarded the Bola de Ouro . In 2000 he went to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . In 2002 he first moved to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , and in the summer again to Kashiwa Reysol in Japan. Again he only stayed one season and then returned to Flamengo. In the spring of 2004 he moved to EC Vitória . In January 2005 he went to Al Ain Club in the United Arab Emirates, but returned to AD São Caetano in Brazil in June . He has been under contract with CR Vasco da Gama since February 2006 .
Edílson made 25 appearances for Brazil . He was in the squad at the 2002 World Cup and was used four times in the tournament.
