Ricardinho , real name Ricardo Luís Pozzi Rodrigues (born May 23, 1976 in São Paulo ), is a former Brazilian soccer player and current coach . With the Brazilian national team he became world champion in 2002 .
Player career

Ricardinho played for the Brazilian club Paraná Clube until 1997 , before moving to the French club Girondins Bordeaux .
The midfielder returned to Brazil after just one season and subsequently played for SC Corinthians Paulista and São Paulo FC . With Corinthians he won the Brazilian Championship in 1998 and 1999 and the Brazilian Cup in 2002 . He also won the FIFA Club World Cup with his club in 2000 .
After a three-month interlude in 2004 with the English club Middlesbrough FC , Ricardinho played for Santos FC and was back under contract with Corinthians since early 2006.
On August 14, 2006 Ricardinho moved to the Turkish football club Beşiktaş Istanbul . Ricardinho moved to Al-Rayyan Sports Club in Qatar in the 2008/09 season . At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Ricardinho changed again. This time free transfer to Atlético Mineiro . After two years, he moved to league competitor EC Bahia in June 2011 , before ending his career in January 2012.
National team
He made his debut in the Brazilian national soccer team on March 28, 2000 in the international match against Colombia .
Since then he has made 23 appearances for the Seleção and scored one goal.
Due to an injury to his compatriot Emerson Ricardinho was nominated for the 2002 World Cup . There he was substituted on in three games and won the world championship with his team.
He was also in the squad for the 2006 World Cup . He was next to substitute goalkeeper Rogério Ceni and midfielder Mineiro one of only three players in the Brazilian squad who played for a Brazilian club.
Coaching career
One day after the end of his career in mid-January, he announced that he would take up a coaching position at his youth club Paraná Clube.
