Luizão , real name Luiz Carlos Bombonato Goulart (born November 14, 1975 in Rubinéia , São Paulo ), is a Brazilian soccer player .
Life
Luizão started his career with Guarani FC in 1993 . These loaned him to Paraná Clube . In 1994 he returned. In 1995 he moved to SE Palmeiras . In 1997 he went to Europe for the first time to Deportivo La Coruña in the Primera División , but returned after a season to Brazil to Vasco da Gama , with whom he won the Copa Libertadores . In 1999 he went to Corinthians São Paulo and won the Brazilian championship with the team. In 2000 he was the top scorer in the Copa Libertadores.
In 2002 Luizão first moved to Gremio Porto Alegre , after the World Cup to Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga . However, the stay in Germany was not marked by success and after 26 games in which he only scored four goals, he said goodbye in March 2004 towards Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas . In autumn 2004 he went to São Paulo FC and in 2005 to Nagoya Grampus Eight in Japan. He then returned to São Paulo FC. He has been under contract with Flamengo since 2006 .
Luizão played 16 times for Brazil and scored three goals. He was in the squad at the 2002 World Cup and was used twice in the tournament. In 1996 he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games .
