The Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja (short: ÍBV ) is an Icelandic football club from Vestmannaeyjar .
history
It was founded in 1903 and is a member of the Icelandic Football Association. The club colors are black and white. The Hásteinvöllur stadium has 1,500 seats.
The ÍB Vestmannaeyja was Icelandic football champion three times (1979, 1997, 1998) and won the national cup four times (1968, 1972, 1981, 1998). In 2006, however, the club rose as the bottom of the table from the first division ( Landsbankadeild ) and played for two years in the second class. For the 2009 season, the club rose again to the first division.
