Oli Johannesen (born May 6, 1972 in Tvøroyri ) is a former Faroese football player and former record player of the Faroese national team .

societies

Johannesen started his career for TB Tvøroyri and played his first game on matchday 13 of the first division in 1988 in the home game against B36 Tórshavn , which could be won 1-0. Johannesen played from the start and was substituted in the 70th minute by Ásmund Nolsøe . It remained his only competitive game this season, which was completed on the penultimate place and thus resulted in relegation. In 1990 TB returned to the first division and finally finished eighth, with Johannesen being one of the regular players in the second half of the season. In the second round of the cup in 1991 Johannesen played against ÍF Streymur from the start , the game was won 2-1. He scored his first league goal on the fourth match day of the same season in a 3-1 away win against SÍ Sumba for a 2-1 lead.

In 1996, Johannesen moved to league competitor B36 Tórshavn. Together with Jákup á Borg , Jens Kristian Hansen , Tummas Eli Hansen , Julian Johnsson and John Petersen , he became Faroese champion the following year. He then moved back to TB Tvøroyri. In the top division, however, only the last place was occupied, so that Johannesen played in 1999 for the first time in the second division . During the season he moved to the Danish Super League at Aarhus GF . He made his debut on matchday three against Viborg FF , he was substituted on in the 81st minute with a score of 1-0 for Tómas Ingi Tómasson , the game ended 1-1. After a few months he returned to TB for two months, and in the second half of 2000 he returned to Aarhus GF.

In early 2001 Johannesen signed a contract with the Danish second division club Hvidovre IF . After the end of the 2001/02 season he ran again on TB Tvøroyri for five months and then returned to Hvidovre. Here he missed relegation by one point with the club lying in 14th place, whereupon he played again firmly for TB in the second division. In the 2003 season he took part in the promotion games to the first division as runner-up. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg against Skála ÍF , the second leg was lost 7-0, leaving TB in the second division. In the following year, being the first in the table, direct promotion to the top division was achieved. In the first division, the relegation games were missed by one point, whereupon the last place followed the immediate relegation. For the next three years he was fourth in the second division, and in 2008 he finally ended his career. In 2010, however, Johannesen made a comeback for TB and played sporadically for the second and first team up to and including 2011. After the promotion of the first team to the first division, he became a regular player there in 2012 and thus also secured relegation, which, however, could not be achieved in the next season as penultimate. After the first team rose again, Johannesen played exclusively for the second team in the second Deild from 2015 to 2016 , after which he ended his career.

European Cup

Despite his long career, Johannesen has only made four appearances in the UI Cup in the European Cup . He completed all of these games in 1997 for B36 Tórshavn . His first game was the 5-0 home defeat against KRC Genk , his last was the 2-4 defeat away from Panachaiki .

National team

Johannesen completed his first international match as a former national record player for the Faroese team together with the other debutants Uni Arge , Jón Johannesen and Jacob Eli Olsen on August 5, 1992 in Toftir in a friendly against Israel , which ended 1: 1. Just one day later he played his only game for the Faroese U-21 team in Tórshavn, also against Israel , with Johannesen being substituted for Sørin Petersen in the 77th minute . He scored his only goal in 83 international matches on April 25, 1993 in a friendly against Estonia in Pyla to equalize 1-1, the game ended 2-2. The last game he played on June 6, 2007 in the European Championship qualifier against Scotland , which was lost 2-0 in Toftir. Johannesen was substituted for Marni Djurhuus in the 36th minute . In 2015 he was replaced by Fróði Benjaminsen as a record national player.
