The Düsseldorf-Wehrhahn train station is about one kilometer north of Düsseldorf Central Station in downtown Düsseldorf . It is located on the Cologne – Duisburg railway line and belongs to station category 4. It is served by the S 1, S 6 and S 11 S-Bahn lines.
The station is also a stop for several light rail and bus routes. The underground lines U 71, U 72, U 73 and U 83 of the Wehrhahn line operate , which are brought back to the west of the train station when coming from the old town.
location
The train station is centrally located between the districts of the city center , Flingern and Duesseltal . The station is located below a road bridge , over which buses and trams cross the railway facilities, and which is also the beginning of Grafenberger Allee.
The S-Bahn station has a central platform with access from Grafenberger Allee and Ackerstrasse. In addition to the two platform tracks, he also has a siding north of the platform on which the amplifier trains of line S 1 wait for their return to Solingen.
The tram stop consists of two side platforms. With the construction of the Wehrhahn Line , the platforms have been moved and widened. The ramp for the Wehrhahn Line was built to the west of the station between 2008 and 2016.

The station is currently served by three lines of the S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr , four light rail lines and seven bus lines. The Birkenstraße and Elisabethkirche stops are directly at the Ackerstraße exit in the Flingern Nord district .

Accidents and problems
Explosives attack in 2000
On July 27, 2000, strangers carried out the bomb attack at the Ackerstraße station entrance , in which ten people were injured and one woman lost her unborn child. Since six of them were of Jewish faith, an anti-Semitic motive was not excluded.
Accidents
On the morning of August 21, 2011, there was a fatal accident at Düsseldorf Wehrhahn train station. An incoming S-Bahn line S 1 to Solingen tore a wheelchair user with it. This died a little later in the hospital.
Drug problem
The station's public toilet is a meeting point for many drug addicts who use heroin here . Although special rubbish bins have been set up for used syringes, some used syringes lying around represent a major hygienic and health hazard.
