The Leverkusen Mitte station is one of six rail stops in Leverkusen . It is located on the Cologne – Duisburg railway in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia , where there are also three other Leverkusen railway stations. It is of great importance for commuters both in the direction of Cologne and in the direction of Düsseldorf.
history
The breakpoint was re-established in 1979 and has been used for passenger traffic ever since. The VRS tariff has been in force since 1987; the VRS / VRR transition tariff applies in the direction of Düsseldorf.
Location and structure
The train station is located in the southwest of Leverkusen in the Wiesdorf district . Right next to the train station is the central bus station of the city of Leverkusen, which is connected to various lines of the Rhein-Sieg transport association .
Operationally, the station consists of two parts: the station part of the Leverkusen Küppersteg station on the Cologne – Duisburg line, which is not served by passenger traffic, and the stop on the single-track S-Bahn line. The central platform with tracks 1 (S-Bahn) and 2 (long-distance track) belongs to both operating parts, to the east of the long-distance tracks there is also the side platform with track 5.
At the eastern end of the city center in Manfort is the Leverkusen-Schlebusch train station , which offers a connection to the Gruiten – Cologne-Deutz railway line .
