Seniority
The rank seniority (in short: RDA ) previously often, patent called, marked the date at which an officer with his rank in the official seniority list has been entered. This date had a considerable influence on the order of the promotions in a ranking system based on the principle of anciency . The date of seniority could differ greatly from the actual date of a promotion (pre-patenting).
