The breakpoint Dusseldorf-Eller Mitte is located about 5 kilometers south-east of Düsseldorf main station in Düsseldorf district of Eller . It is located on the Düsseldorf – Solingen railway line . There it is linked to several lines of the Rheinbahn .
location
The Düsseldorf-Eller Mitte stop is located in the center of the Düsseldorf-Eller district . It has a central platform with entrances on the west side to Gumbertstrasse and on the east side to the street Am Krahnap. As was still common at the time, it was not designed to be barrier-free . In contrast to the Düsseldorf-Eller train station , no retrofitting had taken place until the end of 2015.
history
Simultaneously with the commissioning of the first Düsseldorf main station , a new railway line from there to Eller station was opened on October 1, 1891.
In the course of the structural preparations for the S-Bahn operation on the S7 Düsseldorf Airport - Düsseldorf Hbf - Solingen-Ohligs line, which went into operation on September 28, 1980, the Abzw. Sturm section (near the Düsseldorf-Eller stop Mitte) - Düsseldorf-Eller to three tracks (commissioning 1980) and the Düsseldorf-Eller - Hilden section to four tracks (commissioning July 30, 1979), so that passenger trains have been able to run undisturbed by freight traffic ever since. At the same time, the new Düsseldorf-Eller Mitte stop was created east of the Gumbertstrasse railway overpass in the central location of Eller, following the construction of the first line of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn from Essen Hbf via Düsseldorf Hbf to Langenfeld (today line S6) in 1968. the Düsseldorf Volksgarten , Düsseldorf-Oberbilk and Düsseldorf-Eller Süd stops went into operation.
With the commissioning of the S-Bahn traffic on September 28, 1980, the Düsseldorf-Eller Mitte stop was initially served by the S7 Düsseldorf Airport - Düsseldorf Hbf - Hilden - Solingen-Ohligs line, supplemented by individual journeys during rush hour in the following years the line S1 Dortmund Hbf - Duisburg Hbf - Düsseldorf Hbf which have been extended beyond Düsseldorf Hbf to / from Hilden or Solingen-Ohligs. With the timetable change on December 13, 2009, the network of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn was revised. The S7 was omitted, its tasks were taken over by two other S-Bahn lines. Since then, the Düsseldorf-Eller stop has been served by the S1 line. Line number S7 has been used since December 15, 2013 for the diesel-powered line Solingen Hbf - Remscheid-Lennep - Wuppertal Hbf , whose trains run twice in each direction to and from Düsseldorf Hbf and also in Düsseldorf-Eller Mitte, Monday to Friday during rush hour hold hold.
Lines
Currently (January 2020) the stop is served by an S-Bahn line, a light rail line , a tram line , two bus lines and a night bus line.
