Solveig Rogstad (born July 31, 1982 ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Athletic career

Solveig Rogstad took part in the Junior World Championships in biathlon every year between 2001 and 2003. She achieved her best results when she first participated in 2001 in Khanty-Mansiysk . Here she was fourth in the sprint, tenth in the pursuit and fifth with the Norwegian relay. Since 2003 she has also competed in the European Cup, where she slowly but steadily improved. In 2004 Rogstad was able to compete in the biathlon world cup for the first time in Östersund and was 72nd in the sprint. In Kontiolahti she was able to achieve World Cup points for the first time in a sprint race as 20th at the beginning of the 2007/08 season . In the pursuit race that followed, she was seventh among the top ten for the first time. Her greatest success so far was a victory in the pursuit in Ruhpolding in 2008. She achieved six of her nine top ten results this season and was 14th overall. In addition, Rogstad took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time in 2008 . In Östersund, the Norwegian was tenth in the individual, 15th in the sprint, 24th in the pursuit, 16th in the mass start and sixth in the relay. For the second time she competed in Pyeongchang the following year and reached 43rd place in the individual, was 24th, 23rd in the pursuit and eleventh in the relay race. Solveig Rogstad took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her best result was 61st place in the individual. With the relay she finished fourth.

In November 2011, Rogstad announced his retirement from competitive sports in order to start studying medicine.
