Death of a Schoolgirl is a German television film from 2010 by director Mark Schlichter . It addresses the violent death of a high school student during a class excursion.

action

Alex Berger is a teacher at a high school . As part of an excursion to a lake, he embarks on a sexual adventure with the 18-year-old student Katja Weiss, who previously raved about him via emails and video messages. The next day, the young woman is found dead on the bank. Much evidence points to a sex crime , including that a schoolgirl was raped in the area a few months earlier. The police investigators now suspect a serial offender. Since the investigations did not come to a quick result, the population requested a mass genetic test of all men in the area with a saliva sample . In the meantime, Berger confesses the affair with the schoolgirl to his wife, but denies having killed her. As the initially voluntary submission of the saliva sample approaches, the teacher refuses to take part. He fears that the affair could become public through traces of semen found on the victim's body.

The situation comes to a head when the murderer of the girl, who was abused a few months earlier, is caught, but who has a safe alibi for the murder of Katja Weiss. Berger is getting more and more into the crosshairs of the investigators, as his statements about the school trip also seem implausible. Berger discovers that his 19-year-old son Benedict was also interested in Katja Weiss. He finally confesses to his father that he killed Katja Weiss. Apparently he was watching his father and Katja on the excursion. After his father had left the premises, there was an argument between Benedict and the student, whereupon he killed her with a stone.

Berger then goes to the police station to admit the act and so save his son criminal consequences. During the interrogation , however, Benedict also arrives at the police station and his perpetrator can be proven after he makes a confession.
