Katja Dringenberg

Katja Dringenberg (born September 30, 1961 in Soest ) is a German film editor and director .

life and work

Katja Dringenberg first completed a language degree in French and Italian. From 1984 an editorial traineeship at ZDF followed, as well as internships as a sound assistant and in the film copier. She has worked as an editor in film and television since 1986. She edited Tom Tykwer's first films . Her first documentary as a director was released in 1993 with “Childhood Behind Wire”. It was followed by Me too in 2005 and finally in 2011 - From living with the dead .

She has lived in Berlin and Wuppertal since 1994 .

She was awarded the German Camera Prize for editing the documentary film Black Box BRD and the feature film Die tödliche Maria .

Dringenberg is a member of the German Film Academy . In 2019 she received an invitation to membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscar .
