Tandoori Love is a comedy set in the Bernese Oberland . Oliver Paulus directed and screenplay . The film was produced in 2008 and consists of elements from romance, comedy, musical and Bollywood .

action

A film team from India comes to the Bernese Oberland to shoot a Bollywood film in the Bernese Alps . The chef Rajah meets Sonja in the supermarket, who is connected to the son Markus, the owner of the Hirschen inn. Rajah falls in love with Sonja spontaneously and wants to marry her. Sonja is confused and sees Rajah as a weirdo. But Rajah is serious and so he visits her at the Hirschen inn. There he stands up for Sonja when a guest slaps her buttocks. So he wins their respect. In front of the deer, Markus discovers a wagon with food brought by Rajah and tries it. He is so enthusiastic about the food that he hires Rajah as the chef for the Hirschen. He wants to turn the Hirschen into a gourmet restaurant.

On the other hand, Rajah is missing from the film team and the leading actress of the Bollywood film refuses to continue shooting if her personal chef Rajah does not cook for her. She refuses the rösti. Sonja and Markus fall apart because Sonja feels that Markus has passed over his decisions. Then she falls in love with Rajah and betrays Markus. Markus wants to be reconciled with Sonja and asks Rajah to work an engagement ring into a dish as a surprise. Rajah then proposes to Sonja in the supermarket, which she clearly refuses and asks Rajah to leave. Then she goes back to Markus.

When Markus hears that Rajah has disappeared, he storms into the kitchen and cannot find the ring. He assumes that Rajah stole from him. The film diva, who refuses to work, is dragged into the deer by the producer because he got wind that Rajah should cook there. Instead of eating from Raja, she gets typical Swiss food again. At first she is horrified, but later she tries the “Gitzli” anyway and enjoys it. Markus receives a letter from Rajah and in it he finds the missing ring. He realizes that he has illegally viewed Rajah as a thief. He proposes to Sonja, which she also refuses.

Sonja is no longer sure of her feelings and realizes that she misses Rajah. In her fantasy she visits Rajah in India and confesses his love to him.

criticism

"An extremely amusing production, the somewhat thin plot of which is always caught by good ideas and a lot of sense for visual gags."
