Johanna Bantzer

Johanna Bantzer (born 1978 in Zurich ) is a German-speaking actress .

life and work

Bantzer grew up in Hamburg and studied acting at the Zurich Theater School from 1999 to 2003 . She was then a member of the ensemble at Theater Basel for three years , where she worked with directors Sebastian Nübling (in Shakespeare's König Lear ), Rafael Sanchez (in Gotthelfs Geld und Geist ) and Florian Fiedler (in Ibsen's Peer Gynt ). In the 2007/08 season she appeared in Christina Paulhofer's production of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler at the Hanover Theater . She then played at the Schauspiel Frankfurt in Jelinek's Ulrike Maria Stuart in the direction of Peter Kastenmüller and in 2009 at the Schauspielhaus Zürich in the world premiere of Reto Finger's ideas and instincts , staged by Sandra Strunz .

Between 2009 and 2019 she was a member of the Schauspiel Hannover ensemble , where she appeared as Eszter Solymosi von Tiszaeszlár and in Santo Domingo , both works by the Hungarian film and theater director Kornél Mundruczó . She assumed central roles in Sascha Hawemann's productions of Chekhov's Three Sisters and Tolstoy's Anna Karenina . Furthermore, one could see her in Hanover in the confusions of the pupil Törless after Musil, staged by Claudia Bauer .

In 2015 the actress made her debut at the Salzburg Festival and took on the role of Guten Werke in Hofmannsthal's Jedermann am Domplatz. In 2016 she will play this role there again.

In addition to her stage appearances, the artist regularly appears in front of the camera for film and television productions and has won a number of prizes.
