occupation

Waffenschwestern is a German television film from Hessischer Rundfunk from the ARD crime series Tatort . It is the only case in which the Frankfurt Commissioner Charlotte Sänger investigates without Fritz Dellwo. In her 13th case, the Commissioner is dealing with a gang of women who are raiding banks and are faced with the fact that they are being put to the test for having difficulty using their firearms. The episode premiered on December 14, 2008 on the First .

action

The security guard Franz Schmitt is shot dead in a bank robbery in Offenbach . It is the fifth attack in the last few weeks, but the first one in which a person has been killed. Since Charlotte Sanger's colleague Fritz Dellwo has been in Munich for a longer period , the chief detective has to investigate alone. In the city she suddenly gets into a shootout: A young woman who, as it later turns out, is a German studies student Nadja Koch, shoots around at random. When she aims at an old man, she is shot by the overzealous police officer Martin Petzhold. It turns out that her pistol was only loaded with blank cartridges . Public Prosecutor Dr. Scheer is of the opinion that the singer should have shot the woman himself who was facing her in a short distance. In the presence of her superior Rudi Fromm, he made her violent reproaches. Neither he nor Fromm will accept the argument put forward by the Commissioner that she sensed that something was wrong. Singer is on leave because the question arises as to whether she is still fit for duty with the gun. The commissioner has to answer the questions of the police psychologist Dr. Heisenberg, but mostly blocks them and is not very cooperative, but on the other hand does not let himself be stopped from making further investigations anyway.

Singer looks around in Nadjas Koch's room and finds the calling card of a shooting range. She goes there, shoots on a trial basis and makes a visible impression and is benevolently accepted as a new member. At Nadja Koch's funeral, singer, to her surprise, meets Jule Fischer again, whom she already knows from the shooting club. Jule identifies herself as Nadja's half-sister. She lets singers know how angry she is that Martin Petzhold is attending the funeral. She had actually planned an act of revenge against the police officer, but is canceling it for the time being.

The examination of Nadja Koch's pistol reveals that the security guard was shot with it. Singer watches the surveillance video that recorded the robbery and is certain that at least some of the perpetrators are women, as she classifies their movements as clearly feminine. Your call to your colleague Jan Gröner does not lead to the desired result. The colleague refuses to carry out an observation with her because she is still on leave. At night, for example, the singer observes her friends from the shooting club alone, who meet with many other shooting friends in a remote area. They reproduce historical duels from Pushkin to Lassalle and sometimes even shoot each other with live ammunition. Singer doesn't really know what to make of it, but takes on Jule Fischers when, surprisingly, a police presence dissolves the unannounced meeting. Although the singer has not explicitly introduced himself to Fischer, she knows pretty quickly that her new friend is employed by the police. She had already seen her on the street when her half-sister died without Singer's assistance. Fischer feels drawn to the singer and even takes her to her little forest hut and to her friends Theresa, Luise, Gabi and Cookybell. The Commissioner realizes very quickly that women are now caught in a dangerous vicious circle of violence and retaliation and can no longer make the jump.

Singer accepts Martin Petzhold's invitation to dinner, primarily to talk to him about Nadja and her death. However, he is not aware of any guilt and says that after all she provoked his intervention and is very callous about the death of the young woman. When he also becomes suggestive, the singer gets up and leaves. Since she knows Jule Fischer is in a disco, she goes there and has fun for the rest of the evening. The next morning, Gröner awaits them on a parking deck - Petzhold was literally executed there. Since the singer suspects who may be the culprit for this murder, she asks Fromm to trust her and come along. Arriving at the forest house, Jule Fischer is arrested. However, public prosecutor Scheer's enthusiasm quickly turned into the opposite when, during the examination of the weapons found at Fischer's premises, it turned out that they were not related to the robberies and that one had nothing against Fischer. The young woman wants to speak to Charlotte Sänger and tells her more about the bank robbers. However, the singer senses that something is wrong and Jule is probably just staging a diversionary maneuver. and thats the way it is. While the police storms the forest hut with a large contingent, Fischer lures the inspector into the city, where the next bank robbery is taking place. As soon as the singer arrived, there was an exchange of fire between the guards and the bank robbers. When the perpetrators flee, Jan Gröner pursues one of them and, just as he is about to arrest her, is shot from behind by one of the other women. Singer stands in front of his dead colleague, deeply moved. Just yesterday they had a very personal conversation. The commissioner then resolutely gets up and follows Jule Fischer. The young woman, like Nadja Koch, tries to be shot. When she points her gun at the singer, the inspector shoots her.

Reviews

TV Spielfilm comes to the conclusion that it is "a badly constructed and transparent, but cheeky robber gun and intense solo for singers" and draws the conclusion: "Exaggerated, but radically good test of strength."

Rainer Tittelbach sums up: “Singer goes on a rampage, she is blocked, cannot shoot, is on leave and ends up at the psychologist's before she meets a group of women who have gone wild and who apparently carry out brutal bank robberies. The Commissioner emancipates herself in 'Arms Sisters' from colleague Dellwo - and even has a one-night stand. "

Uwe Ebbinghaus from the FAZ headlined: “Andrea Sawatzki in the 'Tatort' In bad company ” and continues: “ This time Andrea Sawatzki is completely on his own in the HR 'Tatort'. In 'Sisters of Arms' she faces an extremely bloody event. But once again she is sleepwalking safely following her intuition as if it were a higher plan. "
