Figures from the Frankfurt crime scene episodes

Friedrich Dellwo

Jörg Schüttauf alias Fritz Dellwo

Chief Detective Friedrich "Fritz" Dellwo is the head of Investigation Group 3 of the Murder Commission in Frankfurt and was born in the mid-1960s. He works solidly and conscientiously with more classic investigation methods. He is very athletic, as is evident from his participation in the Frankfurt Marathon . He can also demonstrate manual skills and sometimes repairs water pipes himself. However, he lacks the necessary ambition for a leading position at the BKA , even if he is toying with the successor to Fromm, the head of the homicide squad.

He has a secondary school leaving certificate and then began his police service , at the age of 20 he was already working successfully in the field of homicides and has worked his way up to the chief detective officer over the years. He is the superior of Detective Superintendent Charlotte Sänger, appreciates her work and gives her a lot of freedom. Fritz Dellwo had married Steffi, his childhood sweetheart, and bought a row house with her in a new development. Since they have no children, but the dog Balou , they both drifted apart at some point. After the separation, Fritz has to sell the house and uses the proceeds to buy an apartment that he cannot move into. He finds accommodation with his colleague, singer, and moves into the floor on which Charlotte's parents previously lived, until he finally finds a high-rise apartment in which he can finally set up his home. There is actually much more that connects him to his colleague than both admit to one another. But he remains skeptical of any kind of relationship.

Otherwise he is a passionate motorcyclist and sometimes repairs the engine in the living room, which he can easily afford as a single. He even lives out his passion for the music of Led Zeppelin in the office. So not only is his record player there, but also the entire record collection, which nobody but himself is allowed to touch. He still has a mother in a nursing home in Fulda , who always spends Christmas with his sisters and their children.

Charlotte singer

Andrea Sawatzki aka Charlotte Singer

Chief Detective Charlotte Sänger was born in Frankfurt in the late 1960s and grew up there. At first she wanted to study archeology , but then decided to work for the police. After three years in the economic department, she switched to the homicide squad and thus to the investigation team of Chief Inspector Friedrich Dellwo. She is particularly interested in the precise case analysis . She has a very good gift of combination with great analytical acumen. In this way, she succeeds in empathizing with the perpetrator or victim, and she often comes very close to the solution, which is sometimes dangerous for her. She rarely has to prove in action that she is an accurate shooter, but she occasionally loses her service weapon.

In her private life, the high commissioner seems rather aloof. She likes to add salt to her food, doesn't like sausages, but lemon ice cream. She dresses simply and inconspicuously and rejects furs . But she does find interest in the men's world. Even the head of the homicide squad, Rudi Fromm, advances her, but she is quite helpless in the face. Even if she longs for a stable partnership, she usually doesn't have a permanent relationship in mind.

Charlotte Sänger owns her own apartment in her parents' house. Her father Walter Sänger worked as a chemical specialist until his retirement. Her mother Annegret fell ill with Alzheimer's and became a nursing care case. After her parents were cruelly killed, she took her colleague Dellwo in their vacant apartment, glad not to have to live alone in the big house. When he moves out again, she is not very happy about it, especially since she does not like to part with familiar things. So she also carries some soul burden with her, but refuses to go into therapy. She maintains her fitness through formation dancing . Here she shows all her passion, even if she often has to end the training early for business reasons. Your group even takes part in state championships such as the Grand Prix of the City of Frankfurt .

reception

In the audience favor and the list of the most popular “Tatort” investigators, the singer / Dellwo duo ranks 13th with just over seven million viewers. However, critics say: “Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, a few of the 18 crime novels on Hessischer Rundfunk belong to with Charlotte Sänger and Fritz Dellwo for the best that the luxury thriller has produced so far. "

Arne Willander at Welt.de writes: “Among all (the crime scene inspectors) Andrea Sawatzki is the most unlikely policewoman: a fragile miracle creature on the one hand - and a bitter fighter against miserable human nature on the other. Jörg Schüttauf, who is admirably discreet and credible, is a man without illusions, an existentialist in criminology. "
