A murderous role is a television film from the crime series Tatort , which was produced by Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and broadcast for the first time on February 19, 1995 in the program Das Erste . It is about the 303rd crime scene episode, in which (atypical for the crime scene series) the retired chief detective Leo Felber ( Heinz Schubert ) is given as the main investigator. The case is officially dealt with by KHK Schwarze ( Pierre Franckh ) and KHM Hermes ( Dominique Horwitz ). Karl-Heinz von Hassel , who played the then "incumbent" Frankfurt crime scene inspector Brinkmann, appears here in a supporting role as head of the Klose homicide squad.

action

Young actor Frank Langer, well known for his role as Cooper in a crime series, has no shortage of female fans. When his last love affair tries to expose him, however, he doesn't know what to do other than to strangle her. When Eva goes missing on set, Langer is also suspected, but his director gives him an alibi for last night. Film colleague Alice Schirmer is certain, however, that Frank spent the evening with Eva. Inspector Schwarze suspects that Alice knows something and follows her to her apartment, but Alice gets rid of him.

The chief detective a. D., Leo Felber, is approached by his lodger Bartsch about the murder, but he explains to her that he is no longer on duty and that he is currently visiting with his grandson Robert. In the evening he explains that he saw through the window how a man strangled a woman with a scarf in an apartment opposite. However, the murderer also saw the boy at the window watching him. Felber does not believe the boy at first, but remains attentive and lets the landlady show him the apartment. However, he does not find anything conspicuous. At the same time as the boy is hiding in a closet for fun again, he sees a man coming into the apartment whom he recognizes as his film hero Cooper. When he tells his grandfather about it, he just sees it as a reversed reality for the boy. But the next day, Alice Schirmer's body is found in an old factory complex. The police assume a serial offender, since this was the second woman to be strangled. Felber contacts Commissioner Klose in his old office and tells him about his grandson's observations. On a notice in the police station he recognizes the man he saw in Frau Schirmer's apartment. Unfortunately, that was Inspector Black, and Felber goes home again sheepishly.

However, the young detective chief Hermes wants to speak to Felber again and visits him at home. He confirms that his grandson can actually have seen the killer. Felber has the boy draw a picture of "his murderer" and since the serial hero Cooper can be clearly seen on it, nobody really believes him again. Only Hermes does not think it is impossible and observes Langer. He is just about to take a young woman with him in his car, it is Lisa, of all people, who Felber does the housework. Hermes can warn them by phone so that Langer withdraws again. In doing so, however, he steals Lisa's key from Felber's apartment.

Felber has to leave Robert alone for a moment because he wants to find Langer on the film set. But when he realizes that only Langer's double is working there at the moment, he immediately goes back to Robert. The real "Cooper" now visits him, but can initially hide successfully from him. When Felber returns, Langer threatens him and the boy with the pistol that he has just taken from Felber, but does not notice that this was just a dummy that Felber brought from the film set . In the meantime the police are already at the door and Hermes penetrates through a window to the hostages and shoots Langer.

background

Heinz Schubert is better known for his role as "Disgust Alfred" from the television series A Heart and a Soul . He plays here in a single case and not as an investigator in a department, but privately with an innate instinct. The same fate, which is why he quit his job ten years ago, now overtakes a young colleague at the end and leaves everyone involved speechless.

Not only Commissioner Felber, but also the narrative style differs from other episodes of the crime scene series. Karl-Heinz von Hassel gives Klose different character traits than his standard role Brinkmann. At least when it was broadcast on July 18, 2015 as part of the repetition of old Tatort episodes on Hessischer Rundfunk , the episode also had opening and closing credits that differed from the Tatort series.

The reviews are mostly negative. As always, TV fiction is short and sweet:

"Confused Quark, only Schubert convinces"

- TV feature film

"Confused game with reality and fiction"

"Rainer Bär's exciting" Tatort "film with Heinz Schubert in the leading role ...... plays in an original way with confusing interactions between the visual world of television and reality."
