Rainer Bear

Rainer Bär (born October 14, 1939 in Radebeul ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

After finishing school in Zwickau , Bär completed an apprenticeship and worked as a commercial advertiser. Bär studied psychology and pedagogy for two years at the Altenburg Pedagogical Institute from 1957 to 1959 . From 1959 to 1963 he studied directing at the German Academy for Film Art Potsdam-Babelsberg . He then worked in the DEFA studio for popular science films.

His first feature film was the children's film Kaule based on the book of the same name by Alfred Wellm in 1967 . Since then, Bär has been working as a director and screenwriter in film and television and mainly shoots crime films and series, including episodes for Polizeiruf 110 and Tatort .

For Er, Sie, Es Bär was honored with the Grand Prix in 1973 at the international film festival Prague d'Or. He received the same award in 1977 for Julia from next door . In 1978 he received the Heinrich Greif Prize, 2nd class. In 1995 he was awarded the DAG TV Prize for Das Gläserne Haus .
