Such a day  ... is the 133rd TV film in the crime scene crime series. Produced by Hessischer Rundfunk , the episode was broadcast for the first time on February 7, 1982 on ARD's first program. It is the only case of Police Chief Rolfs, portrayed by Klaus Löwitsch . He has to prevent a fur robbery from the business in which his girlfriend works.

action

Police chief Werner Rolfs is doing his job in Frankfurt's station district. The red light gangster Günter Sobeck, known from his daily work, plans to rob the fur wholesaler in Griesebach, where Rolf's friend Monika works, together with foreign gangsters during a Bundesliga game on Saturdays. Sobeck still has an account with Rolfs, because he shot his accomplice Ferry Wollenweber in a self-defense raid. Before the game, Rolfs visits Sobeck because of a dead person in the backyard of his nightclub, but Sobeck is unimpressed and boasts of his good connections. Rolfs suspects that drugs were administered to the dead man, but he cannot prove anything to Sobeck. Nevertheless, the latter becomes nervous and would like to call off his fur coup. The preparations for the coup are already in full swing, however, his driver is held up in a police checkpoint, and there are some other difficulties with the break-in, because Griesebach had new locks installed in his safe shortly beforehand.

Sobeck uses a trick to lure Griesebach from the football stadium to his shop, while his gangsters take Monika hostage in the shop. They want to squeeze the combination of the safe lock out of her and put her under pressure by making her understand that they know that Rolfs is her friend and that he would be at risk if he were on site. Meanwhile, Rolfs drives along with a colleague Griesebach who is rushing to his shop. Griesebach is received on site by the gangsters and taken hostage. Rolfs and his colleague follow Griesebach, Rolfs, who is jealous because he assumes his girlfriend Monika is having an affair with her boss, feels that his jealousy is confirmed and believes that he can catch them both red-handed. Rolfs goes into the building and thinks he has convicted the two of them when he is caught and disarmed by the gangsters. With the help of his colleague, however, Rolfs manages to overpower and arrest the gangsters. Rolfs knows immediately that Sobeck is the man behind him and sets out to meet him, but is killed by a ricochet from the small-boy "Blinki" who wants to shoot his former girlfriend.
