Iris Boehm

Iris Böhm (* 28. May 1967 in Rolandswerth as Iris Louise Boehm ) is a German actress .

Life

Iris Böhm played her first theater roles in the school theater. She first trained as a kindergarten teacher in Kiel , but then decided to become an actress. Böhm attended the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin from 1991 to 1995 . She then took on theater roles at the Berliner Volksbühne and at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . She played there in the plays Miss Sara Sampson by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing , The Women's People's Assembly by Aristophanes and The Trojans by Euripides .

Iris Böhm gained fame primarily through her numerous television roles. She took on several continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and guest roles. Her first television role played Böhm in 1996 in the television film Der Venusmörder . Böhm was in continuous series roles, including as Dr. Johanna Kaminski in Hello, Uncle Doc! , to be seen as Commissioner Hannah Koch in Die Sitte , as forensic specialist Christiane von Basedow in Tatort and as psychologist Christina Buchmann in All Friendship .

For her portrayal of the investigator in the series Die Sitte she was awarded the German Television Prize for "Best Actress Series" in 2004.

Iris Böhm also works as a speaker for audio books . She read crime novels by Jilliane Hoffman , Karin Slaughter and Tess Gerritsen , among others . Together with her husband Heikko Deutschmann , she recorded the correspondence between Sophie Scholl and Fritz Hartnagel from 1937 to 1943.

In 2012 Iris Böhm was awarded a professorship at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, where she previously taught as a lecturer. In 2007 she married the actor Heikko Deutschmann, with whom she had a son in 2006. She lives in Berlin.
