Location of investigation Lucerne ( Switzerland )

Detective inspectors Reto Flückiger , played by Stefan Gubser , and Liz Ritschard , played by Delia Mayer , are fictional characters in the Lucerne episodes of the crime series Tatort . From 2011, Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) was responsible for the consequences. The first of these episodes was created without the character Ritschard, from 2012 there were two new cases with Flückiger and Ritschard. Flückiger had previously investigated three episodes of the Konstanz crime scene as the chief of the maritime police in Kreuzlingen on Lake Constance , before moving to the cantonal and municipal police in Lucerne as a commissioner in the specialist group offenses for life and limb in 2011.

In 2018 it became known that the SRF would discontinue the Lucerne crime scene after the 17th episode and, from 2019, would produce Tatort episodes with Zurich and a new team as the main location. In May 2019, Anna Pieri Zuercher and Carol Schuler were presented as the investigator duo Isabelle Grandjean and Tessa Ott from Zurich. The 17th and final episode of the Lucerne crime scene series was broadcast on October 27, 2019.

reception

Matthias Kohlmaier described the figure of Reto Flückiger at Süddeutsche.de as “a Swiss mixture of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro . The face as hard as bone and furrowed, mostly with an expression of grim cowboyism . To this end, he only speaks the bare essentials, and occasionally not even that. The image runs counter to the fact that at some point, with masculine self-indulgence (or: sorry masculinity) in his gaze, he says: 'Sometimes I am concerned that I'm alone when I go in Bite the grass. ' Maybe living on his houseboat is a little on him. "

On the occasion of the announcement of the end of production for the Lucerne Tatort episodes with Flückiger and Ritschard, the journalist Claudia Schwartz said in the NZZ 2018 that the episodes had "always seemed like an unsolvable problem" since the beginning. The series is considered to be "sedate", which is due to "bumpy scripts and sleepy plots", the films have focused more on the Lake Lucerne setting than on the crime story. The subsequent synchronization of the films originally shot in Swiss dialect into High German was always problematic and responsible for the often poor audience ratings compared to other Tatort episodes.
