action

In Frankfurt, Uwe Dräger borrows an Opel from the rental car company Clever, only to commit a bank robbery with his friends Inga Weiss and Klaus Bender a little later. A security guard is seriously injured. Otto Baumann, who handed the car over to Dräger, allegedly discovered him in his local bar and alerted the police. When the man tries to flee, he is seized with a alarm gun and a false passport.

In Essen, Commissioner Enders is informed of the bank robbery, as it resembles older robberies there. Enders, currently Commissioner Haferkamp's representation, is sent to Frankfurt. He arrives there when the detainee is being interrogated by Inspector Fischer without result. Enders suggests to his colleagues to pretend to be a witness Baumann in order to lure his accomplices out of their hiding place. The real Baumann is accommodated in a hotel with colleague Kreutzer. A short time later, Inga appears at the rental as a journalist and invites Enders to dinner.

What the robbers and the police have no idea is that a wrong man has been arrested. The right person is frightened when it becomes known that the security guard has succumbed to his injury and goes into hiding. However, Dräger returns to her hiding place. When Inga takes the inspector there after the invitation, she is surprised by Uwe's presence. A little later, the third accomplice, Klaus, also comes home. Uwe tells both of them, while Enders wants to make a phone call, that this is not the right Baumann.

You take Enders hostage. Kreutzer, who found out Enders' whereabouts from a taxi driver, hurries to the address of the trio of bank robbers. There he watches as Enders is forced to get into her car. Kreutzer takes on the role of the taxi driver and blocks their car. After Uwe and Klaus get out of the car to help, Enders disarms Inga. Kreutzer now reveals himself as a police officer and they can arrest the trio. The next day, Enders and Kreutzer meet Otto Baumann in front of the police station, who wanted to withdraw his testimony under pressure from Klaus. The two let him understand that there is a reward and that he should reconsider it.
