Hillside location with a view is a television film from the crime series Tatort . It is the third case of the Lucerne investigator Reto Flückiger ( Stefan Gubser ). The broadcast produced by SRF was first broadcast on August 26, 2012. In this 840th crime scene episode, Flückinger and his colleague Ritchards ( Delia Mayer ) investigate a murder case in which it becomes clear to them in which network of political and economic interests they are moving.

action

On Swiss National Day in the mountains, the body of Benjamin Gross is found. Although it looks like the extremely wealthy investor fell off the cable car, doubts remain that this was an accident. The evidence suggests that Gross was pushed out of a cable car. The Arnolds' restaurant, to which the cable car leads, held a celebration on August 1st, which Benjamin Gross also attended. The investigators examine the deceased's surroundings and meet government councilor Eugen Mattmann, who was also at the celebration. He describes a dispute between the mountain farmer Rolf Arnold and Gross. It was about a project that Gross had planned up here in the mountains. So there is actually a corresponding plan for a large wellness hotel on a hillside with a view on the dead man's computer . Farmer Arnold had no interest in selling his land, although he had financial problems.

Benjamin Gross had an affair with the much younger Claudia Arnold, the farmer's daughter. That was not right for Heiko Sievers, Claudias' jealous ex-lover, and he wrote a threatening letter against Gross, which made him suspect. He fled out of fear and went underground, but since he had a reliable alibi, no further investigation was carried out against him.

Flückiger and Ritschard research and find out that Jonas Bättig from the Rütli-Bank is responsible for granting loans to the farmers. He'll be the first to find out who's in financial trouble and then make them an offer to buy before they go bankrupt. Gross' partner Louis Kälin appeared among the buyers each time and Bättig received a value-adjusted commission. Although no large new building could have been built on the Arnold property due to the landscape protection laws, Gross planned to do so anyway. With the help of the government councilor Eugen Mattmann, he had already submitted an application to convert the Wissifluh into a spa and sports zone. This means that if the zoning plan were changed, this land would experience a significant increase in value. Gross and Bättig would have made the profit.

Ritschard has since found out that some similar cases of land sales have recently been made by the Rütlibank. Always shortly before the impending bankruptcy, the bank made the farmers an offer and bought the land. The Wissifluh site was also intended for such a business, but in this case Gross had planned his own project. So the trail leads to the banker Jonas Bättig. Flückiger can barely prevent him from escaping and he confesses that he didn't want to lose his lucrative commission. That's why he wanted to confront Gross in the cable car, but then suddenly the door opened and Gross fell out.

criticism

“A gentle increase in quality at the“ Tatort ”from Switzerland. "Hillside location with a view" aims at what is special about the Alpine republic: nature and landscape. The best remains the idiosyncratic Reto Flückiger and actor Stefan Gubser. The single-versus-all dramaturgy in this crime thriller is extremely simple, but: Flückiger's fight with the "easy chair fools" could be the character's path. In terms of craftsmanship, this "crime scene" still has several weaknesses! "

"Dialogues like from the television museum, you can imagine everything in black and white."
