Zolloberinspektor Kressin is a fictional character from the crime series Tatort , played by Sieghardt Rupp . He determined nationwide, for example in Cologne, Hamburg or Bonn. Kressin was also active in neighboring countries, such as Liège in Belgium and Copenhagen in Denmark.

The WDR produced seven episodes with Kressin as the main investigator; Wolfgang Quantity wrote four of them . Kressin was always traveling alone, but in the case that was to be clarified, he was within the jurisdiction of a different crime scene investigator, so that there were guest appearances by other crime scene commissioners, such as von Trimmel , Lutz , Konrad , Marek and Liersdahl . Kressin was also a guest at three other crime scene investigators and was involved in the events. Customs inspector Kressin was active as an investigator from 1971 to 1973. His first name is unknown.

background

The television crime series Tatort started in 1970/71. The fictional character of the customs inspector Kressin was originally intended for a separate television series. However, as the ARD was forced to act and to have films available for the new Tatort series quickly , Kressin was involved in the Tatort . While the other early investigators in the series were rather older and corresponded to father figures in their role, the "Playboy" Kressin created something completely new - also outwardly. The figure was also special in that it is not part of the criminal police, like almost all other investigators. Kressin is so far the only customs investigator in the series, there are also a few episodes among the German Tatort productions with a MAD officer and two individual episodes each with a patrol officer as the main investigator.

There were disputes over who would play the role of Kressin. The author Wolfgang Menge had created Kressin as a fictional character and did not really agree with the cast. First he had agreed with the WDR on Heinz Bennent as an actor. When writing the scripts, however, he found that Bennent was not suitable for all episodes. With the consent of the WDR, Sieghardt Rupp was finally agreed by casting . However, crowd did not consider him to be the ideal cast, so that he ended the collaboration on the Kressin episodes after the fifth crime scene .

characters

Cressin

Kressin always appears in a smart James Bond manner, with cool sayings and accompanied by pretty girls. Very few women can resist his charm and charisma. With plenty of hair gel, casual clothes and a sporty figure, he faces all challenges. He works unconventionally and is not a team player. Always traveling alone, he sometimes also brings in his female companion. His tenacity always brings him success, and he often gets to the perpetrators of the crimes. However, he chases his main adversary, the criminal gang leader Sievers, over all episodes without ever catching him. As a womanizer, macho and smoker, he is always out for conquests, preferably women with a fast sports car. He solves his cases on the side while enjoying his life. Since his salary doesn't quite match that, he has a lot of debts, but he isn't worried about them. Nonetheless, he stays straight on the side of the law and is not corrupt. As a real tough guy, he doesn't avoid any brawls and resembles Horst Schimanski, who was created ten years later .

Customs Council

The customs council, Kressin's superior, is played by Hermann Lenschau . He always only makes brief appearances, often remotely on the phone because Kressin is currently operating in completely different cities. He usually blesses Kressin's actions, gives orders for an operation or even reprimands him if Kressin has overshot the mark. With the exception of the episode Dead Dove in Beethovenstrasse , the Customs Council is part of every episode.

Sievers

Sievers, the noble thief, is played by Ivan Desny . Always with a small, noble mustache, he is absolutely relaxed and self-confident. He is always polite and has extremely good manners. Appropriately, he only travels in a Rolls-Royce with a chauffeur and a Liechtenstein license plate, is always in a different, noble villa, but sometimes takes the train. He has his fingers in all kinds of pots; It starts with drug trafficking and continues through alcohol smuggling, art trading, the liberation of gangsters, international arms deals and the gold trade.

Like the Zollrat, except in the episode Dead Taube in Beethovenstrasse , he is part of every episode, sometimes only in a tiny sequence. Despite all of Kressin's best efforts, he is unbelievable until the last episode. A continuous opponent remained the exception in the Tatort series; It was not until 2013 that such a figure reappeared in the films with Nick Tschiller .
