Edgar Hoppe (born December 18, 1937 in Hanover ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Life

After completing secondary school, Hoppe was trained as an actor at the Hanover University of Music and Theater from 1953 to 1956 . He made his debut at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in the junior studio , where he stayed until 1959. After an engagement at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden , he worked again at the Schauspielhaus in Bochum from 1963 to 1967. This was followed by a job at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and then a long-term engagement at the German theater there .

Apart from his stage work, Hoppe became known from the 1970s through several television roles. He was assistant to Commissioner Trimmel ( Walter Richter ) in four Tatort episodes as Kriminalmeister Höffgen and also made two guest appearances in this role with customs investigator Kressin. After that, Hoppe was mainly seen in Loriot's skits (among other things as a trouser seller and as a bed seller in Hallmackenreuter) and in the television series Großstadtrevier as police chief Dietmar Steiner. Hoppe, who also works as a voice actor, is also the voice of Hein Blöd from the Käpt'n Blaubär stories.
