Walter Richter
Walter Richter (born May 13, 1905 in Berlin , † July 26, 1985 in Vienna ) was a German actor and radio play speaker .
Life
The son of a businessman received acting lessons from Ferdinand Gregori after an internship at the Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1931 on he appeared on stages in Bremerhaven , Gera , Breslau , Cologne and Stuttgart . From 1939 to 1941 he worked at the municipal theaters of Frankfurt am Main . From 1941 to 1950 he played at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and from 1942 to 1945 at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna .
After the Second World War he worked first in Zurich and from 1953 in Munich . Here he was appointed state actor and chamber actor . He was best known as the worm in Cabal and Love and as the title character in Gerhart Hauptmann's Fuhrmann Henschel .
The busy theater actor Richter became known to a wide audience as the postmaster in the film Dunja (1955) and above all as the crime scene commissioner for ARD . As grumpy chief inspector Paul Trimmel , whom he embodied between 1970 and 1982, he also solved the first crime scene crime thriller in television history from Friedhelm Werremeier in Taxi to Leipzig . He also made appearances in Morituri , When the Heath Blossoms or Carter Henschel . He was also seen as a scissor grinder in the three-part Babeck , a " street sweeper " from 1968. He also played the role of a sullen but child-loving farmer in 1970 in the German-Swedish children's film Pippi out of control .
During his rather rare trips to the dubbing studio, Richter lent his colleagues Jean Marais (in Once Upon a Time ), Spencer Tracy (in The Woman We Talked About ) and Ernest Borgnine (in his Oscar-winning role in Marty ) the voice. He was also a busy radio drama speaker. You could hear him in a wide variety of genres, for example in classics like The Bear by Anton Pawlowitsch Chekhov , Under the Pear Tree by Theodor Fontane or As Far Your Feet by Josef Martin Bauer , but also in detective radio plays like Die Orchideenparty as private detective Nero Wolfe from Rex Stout .
Walter Richter died in July 1985 at the age of 80 in Vienna (not at his last place of residence in Zurich, as some sources say). His grave is on the state's own cemetery in Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend , near the Olympic Stadium (grave location: II-Wald-11). He rests there next to his second wife Hidde Richter née. Ebert (1913-1946).
