The Frankfurt detective chief inspectors Frank Steier, played by Joachim Król , and Conny Mey, played by Nina Kunzendorf (until 2013), are fictional people in the episodes of the crime series Tatort for which Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) is responsible . The first two cases with investigators aired in May 2011.

Steier and Mey replaced the previous Frankfurt investigator duo Dellwo and Singer , who were removed from HR in 2010 after 18 episodes. The investigation and shooting locations are Frankfurt and the surrounding area.
In the sixth case, commissioner candidate Linda Dräger, portrayed by Alwara Höfels , investigates at the side of chief inspector Frank Steier, before he closes the last episode with the words: “Kriminalhauptkommissar. off-duty".

Chief Detective Frank Steier ( Joachim Król ) is a hardworking, inconspicuous investigator with an alcohol problem. In his private life he lives with Edgar, a hairdresser.
Conny Mey
Chief Inspector Conny Mey ( Nina Kunzendorf ) is completely the opposite of her colleague Steier in character. In the course of the fifth joint case, she explains her move to the police school in Kiel.

Erik Seidel
Commissioner Erik Seidel ( Peter Kurth ) has been a colleague of Steier for many years and is on friendly terms with him. In the first case, A Better World , Mey reveals that Seidel had a sexual relationship with one of the perpetrators and that he falsified the incident protocol in their favor. That puts a strain on his marriage and on the collaboration with colleague Mey from the start.
Edgar
Edgar, whose last name remains anonymous, is a roommate of Styria. The commissioner wrongly suspected him in a previous investigation, thereby destroying his family. He is introduced to Mey in the second case It's bad and says goodbye to her last case. He who breaks the silence from her because he is terminally ill with cancer.
