Location of investigation Hamburg

The Hamburg detective chief Cenk Batu , played by Mehmet Kurtuluş , is a fictional person from the episodes of the crime series Tatort, for which Norddeutscher Rundfunk is responsible .

background

Batu is the successor to Jan Casstorff , whose actor Robert Atzorn did not want to continue the crime scene after 15 episodes. In 2010 Kurtuluş also announced to the NDR that he would leave the crime scene after two more episodes because he wanted to devote himself to more international film projects. The last episode with him premiered on May 6, 2012.

characters

Cenk Batu

Chief Detective Officer Cenk Batu ( Mehmet Kurtuluş ) lives alone on the 19th floor of one of Hamburg's Mundsburg towers and regularly works as an undercover agent . In each episode he is on a different mission, with the long-term placement of the undercover agent being mostly anticipated. Occasionally his Turkish origin helps him during his missions, although it is not particularly important to him and he speaks poor Turkish .

Peter Jordan alias Uwe Kohnau

Uwe Kohnau

Chief Detective Uwe Kohnau ( Peter Jordan ) leads the undercover investigator and is the official head of the investigation and head of Batu. You have a trusting and open, but strictly professional relationship with one another. The cool, matter-of-fact Kohnau has to call Batu to order or protect him again and again, because his emotionality leads him to go it alone and investigative methods on the verge of legality.

reception

"When is a man a man? In any case, Cenk Batu alias Mehmet Kurtulus not only gives the 'crime scene' a new face, the male image also looks relatively unusual in the crime bastion. Cool and distinctive, taciturn and elegant - that is anything but the civil servant mentality and working according to regulations, as you often see in other TV stations. "

- Rainer Tittelbach : Tittelbach.tv

"The undercover cop Cenk Batu, played by Mehmet Kurtulus, developed into the most exciting character in the series: The cases in which the extremely versatile inspector could be seen were fast, complex and ultra-modern."
