Press conference to announce the award winners

The press conference for the announcement of this year's Grimme Prize winners took place on March 27, 2013 in the great hall of the Düsseldorf State Agency for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Grimme Institute was represented by the Grimme Director Uwe Kammann, Head of Department Grimme Prize Ulrich Spies and the representative for press and public relations Henning Severin. Max Giermann , Claudia Michelsen and Bettina Braun were on site on behalf of the award winners. The jury was represented by Annette Borke (fiction), Fritz Wolf (information and culture) and Gerd Hallenberger (entertainment).

Numerous aspects of the awarding of the award were addressed during the press conference. Based on the nomination of I'm a Star - Get Me Out of Here! for example, the nomination criteria were shared, but “craft alone [...] does not make a Grimme Prize”. The (entertainment) agenda 2010 also shows that every job is reasonable.

With a view to a discussion about good television and the responsibility of the Grimme Prize, Grimme Director Uwe Kammann stated that the Grimme Prize sees itself as a warning, but also as a praise. However, good television productions usually have the "crux of the late airtime".

Award ceremony

The award ceremony took place on April 12, 2013 in the theater of the city of Marl . It was moderated by Michael Steinbrecher and musically accompanied by the Düsseldorf electronic trio Stabil Elite . As a surprise for the ensemble of the excellent two-parter Der Turm , the band Silly played the song Your Strengths .

The poster

This year's poster was - as in previous years - designed by Markus Thiele. It shows the boxer Charly Graf, the main actor from the excellent documentary Ein deutscher Boxer by Eric Friedler.
