Christian Beetz (2013)

Christian Beetz (born July 24, 1968 in Flawil ) is a German film producer, director, lecturer, multiple Grimme Prize winner and managing director of gebrueder beetz film production .

Life

Christian Beetz studied cultural studies, philosophy and theater studies in Berlin. Together with his brother Reinhardt Beetz, he founded gebrueder beetz filmproduction in 2000 with locations in Hamburg, Cologne, Lüneburg and Berlin. As a producer and director, he has since made over 200 cinema documentaries , documentary series, documentaries, drama docs and innovative cross-media formats for the international market. Many of his productions have received prestigious awards - including five Grimme Awards ( The Cleaners ; Farewell Comrades!; Between Madness and Art - The Prinzhorn Collection; FC Barcelona) , the Cinema for Peace Award (Blood in the Mobile), the Prix ​​Europa (The Cleaners, FC Barcelona), the German Short Film Award (The Accordion Player), the HotDocs Filmmaker Award and Special Jury Prize (Herbstgold; Gardenia - Before the Last Curtain Falls), three times the British Independent Award (The Heroes of the Titanic) and the IDFA Special Jury Award (Madiba - The Legacy of Nelson Mandela) .
