Comenius EduMedia Award

The Comenius EduMedia Award (also short: Comenius Award) has been presented annually since 1995 by the Society for Education, Information and Media (GPI). With the award, the GPI primarily promotes educational, content and design outstanding didactic multimedia products. Award winners are usually publishers or institutions that develop, manufacture and sell the media product. The award is an honorary award and not associated with a financial contribution.

Categories

The Comenius EduMedia Awards are given in the form of the Comenius Seal and the Comenius Medal in the following categories:

  • Didactic multimedia product (DMP)
  • General Multimedia Products (AMP)
  • Teaching and learning management system (LMS)
  • Computer games with skills enhancing potential (CKP).

Assessment and nomination

To determine the Comenius EduMedia awards, the GPI uses a two-stage award procedure based on a catalog of criteria: 1st stage: Comenius EduMedia seal (assessment and certification by the Institute for Education and Media of the GPI and by the reviewers of the GPI jury - Rating) 2nd level: Comenius EduMedia Medal (decision on the awarding of the Comenius EduMedia Medal by the GPI jury composed of GPI board members, GPI curators and GPI country representatives - ranking).
