The Forum is a German-Swiss documentary film from 2019 about the World Economic Forum in Davos . Marcus Vetter's film had its world premiere on October 28, 2019 as the opening film of the 62nd International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film . The German theatrical release was on November 6, 2019. The film was produced by Gebrüder Beetz Filmproduktion together with the Swiss Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion AG.

The film accompanies the founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab over a period of two years in his efforts to implement his vision of improving the state of the world through dialogue. The film takes on critical tones, such as that of Greenpeace boss Jennifer Morgan , but does not take a position of its own.

According to their own statement, an independent film team was allowed to take a look behind the closed doors of the World Economic Forum for the first time. The film shows how high-ranking politicians exchange ideas with business leaders in bilateral talks, such as Donald Trump , Emmanuel Macron , Angela Merkel , Christine Lagarde , Aung San Suu Kyi , Jair Bolsonaro , Greenpeace leader Jennifer Morgan , climate activist Greta Thunberg and the board members at World Economic Forum Murat Sönmez and Dominic Waughray.
