Kappl and Deininger

Investigation location Saarbrücken ( Saarland )

The Saarland detective chief inspectors Franz Kappl , played by Maximilian Brückner , and Stefan Deininger , played by Gregor Weber , are fictional people in the episodes of the crime series Tatort, for which the Saarland broadcasting company (SR) is responsible . Kappl and Deininger were replaced in 2012 after seven cases by the investigative duo Stellbrink and Marx .

background

Saarbrücken and the surrounding area served as filming locations for the investigator duo .

Despite good ratings and increasingly positive ratings, the Saarländischer Rundfunk declared the end of the crime scene with Kappl and Deiniger in November 2011 because its story had been told. The contracts with the actors were not renewed before they expired. Since the filming of the last abducted case had long been completed by this time, the film contains no reference to the detective's departure and this team's series ends abruptly.

characters

Maximilian Brückner alias Franz Kappl (2017)

Franz Kappl

Chief Detective Officer Franz Kappl was born in Gilching (Upper Bavaria) on January 10, 1979. He was shaped by the stories in the Bible from the time he was an altar boy . Kappl, who was with the volunteer fire brigade , learned to play the bass tuba .

After he had done his military service with the mountain hunters in Mittenwald , he went from Traunstein to the murder commission in Saarbrücken, where he was hired as head of Police Directorate IV. Shortly before the takeover in Saarbrücken, his mother died. He kept in contact with his father by telephone.

Since Kappl had become the head of the homicide squad and his colleague Stefan Deininger had also applied for this post, the first time in Saarbrücken was difficult for him. Kappl's way of working was very systematic and with dedicated instructions, including the entire homicide team in the investigation.

Gregor Weber alias Steffen Deininger (2016)

Stefan Deininger

Chief Inspector Stefan Deininger was born in Saarbrücken on May 25, 1968. He attended the Erich-Kästner-Gymnasium, where he learned to play the Scottish bagpipes for a school performance . From 1982 to 1987 he was named "Saarland Champion in Freestyle Wrestling" six times in a row, but then stopped due to an injury.

At the age of 18 he gained his first experience in police work as an assistant to the chief detective, Max Palu . During this time he often had to do favors, which he did not resist. The secretary Braun was thoroughly sympathetic to Deininger and advised him several times to object to the arrogant manner of her boss. This was countered by its quiet character.

When his supervisor Max Palu retired, he hoped to be his successor. When he was defeated in the application to Franz Kappl, he initially behaved negatively towards his new boss, only some time later Deininger tried to come to terms with the situation.
