Gerd Wameling
Gerd Wameling (born April 1948 in Paderborn ) is a German theater and film actor and voice actor .
Life
He completed his training at the Folkwang University in Essen . His first engagement as a young actor was immediately after his acting training at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt am Main . In 1974 he went to Peter Stein in Berlin at the Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer, and later, from 1981, to the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz . There he was a member of the ensemble until 1992 and was part of the core of the 'old Schaubühne'. In 1983, he spoke in the NDR - radio play , it is wonderful that no one thinks of Bohemia by Helga Schütz the role of Martin Luther . The radio play was a kind of interlude to the unfinished film Martin Luther planned by the GDR .
Since 1992 he has only worked as a freelancer, for example at the Salzburg Festival . He had his greatest success in 1992 with “Der Streit” by Marivaux . In 2006 he directed “After the Rain” by Sergi Belbel , in 2007 Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet” and in 2009 “Stags and hens” by Willy Russel.
In addition to teaching, Wameling continues to work as an actor in film and theater. He was seen in the play "The Draftsman" by Canadian Michael Healey , directed by Felix Prader. He is known to audiobook friends for his recordings. The spectrum ranges from CDs for children (e.g. “Thomas Müller and the Circus Bear” by Karen Duve ) to the 19 CDs on which he reads Dostoyevsky's “ Schuld und Atonement ”. In March 2008 appeared Pension Eva by Andrea Camilleri . He also read Dead Man by Camilleri and Milarepa by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt . His voice can currently be heard on the audio book Die Psychologie der Erbtante - based on texts by Erich Mühsam with music by Sergej Prokofjew played by Johannes Roloff . Gerd Wameling can also be heard as speaker and singer on the audio songbook CD A Mole in a Box with poems by the American author Charles Bukowski set to music (audio songbook, audio CD, 62 min. In 2008 he was the only juror for the Alfred Kerr Acting Award. The winner was Niklas Kohrt for his role as Bruno in “Die Ratten” by Gerhart Hauptmann , directed by Michael Thalheimer.
In 1993 he and Karl Heinz Willschrei , Jürgen Heinrich and Klaus Pönitz received the Adolf Grimme Prize with bronze for Wolff's territory .
