Claudia Bauer

Claudia Bauer (* 1966 in Landshut ) is a German director .

Life

She received acting and directing training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin until 1994 and is still associated with the university through repeated visiting professorships in the drama department.

Claudia Bauer has made a name for herself as a director and artistic director since the 1990s. Her productions can be seen in Jena , Stuttgart , Munich , Halle , Schwerin , Berlin , Magdeburg and Graz .

Claudia Bauer has been a permanent in-house director at the Schauspiel Leipzig since 2013/14 (artistic director: Enrico Lübbe) and was invited to the Mülheimer Theatertage in 2014 with her world premiere “Und Then” by Wolfram Höll. In 2017, Bauer's Leipzig production “89/90” was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen by Peter Richter.

In 2019, Bauer's production Tartuffe or the Wise Men’s Pig at Theater Basel was invited to the Theatertreffen in Berlin.
