Christoph Gaugler

Christoph Gaugler (* 1958 in Belpberg ) is a Swiss actor .

Life

Christoph Gaugler is the son of the Swiss actor Hans Gaugler (1913–1997). He received his artistic training from 1980 to 1983 at the Bern University of the Arts , followed by further training in New York, among others with Kristin Linklater . So far, stages of his theater career have been stages in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, as well as various off-productions in New York. Gaugler played at the Theater Basel , the Stadttheater Luzern , the Volkstheater Wien , the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Theater Ulm . Well-known roles were Mortimer and the Count of Kent in Friedrich Schiller's Maria Stuart , Cliff in Blick zurück im Zorn by John Osborne , Lennox in Macbeth by William Shakespeare or the Emperor Zeno in Friedrich Dürrenmatt's Romulus the Great .

After Gaugler made his debut in front of the camera in 1983, he has appeared regularly in Swiss and German film and television productions since the mid-2000s. From 2007 to 2010 he played a continuous role in the crime series KDD - Kriminalfamiliedienst , he was seen in several Tatort episodes as well as in the Swiss series The Undertaker and the two-part Gotthard , which deals with the construction of the Gotthard tunnel .

Christoph Gaugler currently lives in Berlin.
